What We're Looking For
AmDocs celebrates documentary filmmaking in all its forms. We seek authentic, compelling stories that challenge, inspire, and illuminate the human experience.
Feature Documentary
60+ minutes. Narrative or observational docs exploring complex subjects with depth and cinematic craft.
Short Documentary
Under 40 minutes. Focused, impactful stories that make every second count.
International Documentary
Films produced outside the United States, celebrating global perspectives and voices.
First-Time Filmmaker
Debut feature or short from a director with no prior festival-selected work.
Environmental & Nature
Docs focused on ecology, climate, conservation, and humanity's relationship with the natural world.
Social Impact
Films addressing human rights, social justice, community, and stories that drive meaningful change.

How It Works
The Submission Process
Prepare Your Materials
Gather your screener link, director's statement, high-res stills, and press kit before starting your application.
Complete the Form
Fill out all required fields including film details, synopsis, and contact information. Double-check everything before submitting.
Submit & Confirm
Submit your application and receive an email confirmation. Keep your screener link active until March 1, 2025.
Programming Review
Our team reviews all submissions on a rolling basis. You'll hear back within 6–8 weeks of the deadline.
Selection Notification
Selected films are notified by February 15, 2025. All applicants receive a decision by March 1, 2025.
Festival Screening
Selected filmmakers receive full festival accreditation, Q&A opportunities, and industry networking access.

Submission FAQ
Can I submit a film that has already screened at other festivals?
Yes, as long as it has not had a US theatrical or streaming release. We welcome films with prior festival history.
Is there a submission fee?
Yes. Fees range from $35 (early bird) to $80 (extended deadline). Fee waivers are available for filmmakers from underrepresented regions — contact us.
What format should my screener be in?
We accept Vimeo, FilmFreeway, Google Drive, or Dropbox links. Minimum 1080p resolution required. DCP files are not accepted at this stage.
Can I submit multiple films?
Yes, each film requires a separate submission and fee. There is no limit on the number of films you can submit.
When will I hear back about my submission?
We review on a rolling basis. Expect a response within 6–8 weeks of the deadline you submitted under. All decisions are final by March 1, 2025.
Do selected filmmakers receive travel support?
We offer limited travel grants for international filmmakers. Details are provided upon selection notification.
