More Than a
Film Festival
While the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) is held annually each Spring, our mission is one that serves the area full-time, year-round. We carry out a variety of screenings — both indoor and outdoor — education efforts, and community outreach activities throughout the year to benefit the Coachella Valley film, school, and arts communities.
From senior center screenings to school collaborations, from festival panels to outdoor amphitheater events, AmDocs is woven into the fabric of the Coachella Valley community in ways that go far beyond a single week in Spring.

Festival Seminars & Panels
During our annual Film Festival, we host in-depth seminars and panel discussions featuring filmmakers, industry professionals, and community leaders — creating a space for dialogue around the stories being told on screen.
Monthly Highlight Screenings
Between April and November each year, we present monthly highlight screenings that keep the spirit of documentary cinema alive in the Coachella Valley long after the festival curtain falls.
Senior Center Screenings
We bring free monthly screenings to Coachella Valley senior centers, ensuring that documentary film is accessible to all members of our community — regardless of age or mobility.
Community Organization Events
We partner with area community organizations for periodic special events — from health awareness screenings to cultural celebrations — using the power of documentary film to spark meaningful conversations.
Educational Collaborations
We maintain ongoing collaborations with area primary and secondary educational institutions, bringing documentary film into classrooms and helping students develop critical media literacy skills.
Special Celebrations of Documentary
From retrospectives to themed screening series, we organize special events that celebrate the art and impact of documentary film in all its forms — honoring the filmmakers who dedicate their lives to truth-telling.
